Our fourth trip to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania was an unplanned trip we decided to make after an appointment at the Detroit airport on December 22, 2023, and spent the Xmas holiday touring some of Pittsburgh’s famous historic bridges. Our first bridge was the Rachel Carson (9th Street) Bridge and the 50-plus-degree weather in Pittsburgh allowed us the opportunity to enjoy more historic bridges and some of Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods and historic sites. We will be back to continue our exploration of riveted bridges and other historic industrial sites, and to access historic archives for those elusive industrial shop pictures of the craftsmen who fabricated these historic bridges.
