Knoxville, Tennessee

Traveling south this week for a family event and an opportunity to inspect historic riveted metal truss bridges along way, we were enjoying clear highways until somewhere near the Kentucky/Tennessee border around Jellico Gap on I-75, where heavy rain and fog slowed traffic. The next morning a strong wind drove rain hard against cars and buildings, but it did pass quickly. Later we learned of Kentucky’s devastation and how close we were to the line of storms.

We are experiencing pleasant weather today with an enjoyable breakfast in Knoxville, Tennessee, at OliBea Restaurant, planning to travel back to Michigan and inspect more historic riveted truss bridges, especially looking for craftsmen’s marks on forge-welded eyebars.
