Last week this time I was checking into Sparrow Hospital for my knee operation. I’m not sure how to describe the various up and down mental and physical gyrations that got me to this point, where the path to normalcy seems possible. Nan has taken on her role of coach with the same gusto and organizational skills she had applied in her teaching career and other life’s endeavors. Vern Mesler
